The finals of the 2nd Ningbo Qianwan New Area Volunteer Service Project Competition was held in the afternoon of September 5. The event was hosted by the Office of the Party Working Committee and the Working Committee of Communist Youth League of China of the Ningbo Qianwan New Area. After preliminary application, initial review, screening, and multiple rounds of training, 15 projects advanced to the finals, collectively showcasing the innovative achievements of Qianwan's volunteer services moving towards specialization, socialization, and branding. Over a hundred representatives from towns, subdistricts, enterprises, and social volunteer service organizations participated in the event.
It is reported that this competition, under the theme "Qianwan Volunteer +, Love Converges in Millions of Homes", focused on areas such as public welfare services, ecological protection, cultural heritage, and emergency response, etc. At the competition, project leaders delivered 5-minute roadshows, vividly presenting their projects' backgrounds, implementation results, and distinctive features: the Luzhongwan Subdistrict's "Industrial Park Emergency Rescue Volunteer Service Project" effectively enhanced the emergency response capabilities of factory employees. The Andong Town's "Cultural Nourishment Village Tour Volunteer Service Project" activated rural cultural vitality through a model of "the elderly helping the elderly and the elderly helping the young". The Chongshou Town's "Infant and Early Childhood Education Volunteer Service Project" precisely addressed the needs of new parents, having served nearly 40 infant and toddler families cumulatively. The Fotile Group's "Aid Education and Empower Rural Education Revitalization Volunteer Service Project" assisted students in impoverished and remote areas, benefiting over a thousand students... Additionally, the competition specially invited the Ningbo Qianwan New Area Ecological Environment Protection Association for a presentation. Their "Enterprise Green Development Emergency Guardian Volunteer Service Project" provided comprehensive environmental "health checks" for over 800 enterprises in Qianwan, aiding their green development. Vivid case studies and solid sets of data demonstrated the responsibility and actions of Qianwan's volunteer services in enhancing public welfare.
After fierce competition, the event finally selected 1 Gold Award, 3 Silver Awards, 5 Bronze Awards, and 6 Merit Awards. Among them, the "Morning Sunlight and Warm Porridge – Love Porridge House Fotile Station Volunteer Service Project" won the Gold Award.
A relevant official from the organizing committee said: “This competition not only showcased the diverse charisma and innovative achievements of volunteer services in the Ningbo Qianwan New Area, but also for the next step will involve continuing to support the implementation, transformation, and promotion of outstanding volunteer service projects, guiding more social forces to engage in providing volunteer services.'"
